AUSI Snorkelling Programs

Recreational levels

AUSI offers three levels of Snorkel Diver certification:

• AUSI Level 1 Snorkel Diver
  – a demonstrated ability to duck dive safely to at least 3 metres (10 ft)
• AUSI Level 2 Snorkel Diver
  – a demonstrated ability to duck dive safely to at least 6 metres (20 ft)
• AUSI Level 3 Snorkel Diver
  – a demonstrated ability to duck dive safely to 9 metres (30 ft)

AUSI Snorkel Specialties

There are other AUSI Snorkelling Specialties, namely:

• AUSI Free Diver - catering for those wishing to pursue depths greater than 9 metres (30 ft)
• AUSI Snorkel Rescue Diver
• AUSI Underwater Photography
• AUSI Underwater Naturalist
• AUSI Kayak Snorkelling

Professional levels

AUSI Snorkel Swimming Instructor

An AUSI Snorkel Swimming Instructor can:

• Conduct Snorkel Swimming programs in a pool,
• Snorkel Swimming programs in sheltered water under the supervision of an AUSI Snorkel Guide or higher, and
• Act as a lookout for snorkelling activities in open water under the supervision of an AUSI Snorkel Guide or higher.

AUSI Snorkel Guide

An AUSI Snorkel Guide can:

• Conduct snorkel swimming programs,
• Act as an in-water guide for uncertified snorkel divers in open water, and
• Supervise snorkelling activities in open water.

AUSI Snorkel Diver Instructor

An AUSI Snorkel Diver Instructor can:

• Conduct snorkel swimming programs,
• Act as an in-water guide for uncertified snorkel divers in open water,
• Supervise snorkelling activities in open water, and
• Train and certify AUSI Snorkel Divers, AUSI Snorkel Swimming Instructors and AUSI Snorkel Guides.

AUSI Snorkel Diver Instructor Trainer

An AUSI Snorkel Diver Instructor Trainer can:

• Conduct snorkel swimming programs,
• Act as an in-water guide for uncertified snorkel divers in open water, and
• Supervise snorkelling activities in open water, and
• Train and certify AUSI Snorkel Divers, AUSI Snorkel Swimming Instructors, AUSI Snorkel Guides and AUSI Snorkel Diver Instructors.

AUSI Snorkel Professional Cross-Over Programs

Qualified snorkelling professionals from other recognised agencies are welcome to become registered AUSI Professionals. AUSI Cross-Over Programs are Free*.
