AUSI Scuba Programs

Pre-Entry Levels:

AUSI Scuba Experience (Introduction to scuba)

Introduction to scuba diving on the surface or in shallow enclosed water.

AUSI Scuba Adventure (Resort Diving)

An introduction to scuba diving in open water.

AUSI Level I Scuba Diver (Supervised open water diving)

Scuba diving in open water to nine metres (30 ft) while under the direct supervision of an AUSI Level II Scuba Instructor or higher.

Recreational Levels:

AUSI Level II Scuba Diver (International Open Water Diver)

Entry level Scuba diving in open water with a similarly trained and experienced scuba diver to 18 metres (60 ft) in daylight hours without the direct supervision of an AUSI Scuba Instructor.

AUSI Level III Scuba Diver (Advanced Diver)

Scuba diving in open water to 30 metres (100 ft) in daylight hours and 18 metres (60 ft) at night without the direct supervision of an AUSI Scuba Instructor. Also trained in basic underwater navigation.

AUSI Level IV Scuba Diver (Deep Diver)

Scuba diving in in open water to 39 metres (130 ft) in daylight hours without the direct supervision of an AUSI Scuba Instructor.

AUSI Level V Scuba Diver (Rescue Diver)

A scuba diver with both AUSI Level IV Scuba Diver (Deep Diver) and AUSI Rescue Diver. Trained in scuba rescue, first aid, CPR, oxygen provision and deep diving.

AUSI Level VI Scuba Diver (Master Diver)

Trained to organise and conduct scuba diving activities (dive leadership) and underwater guiding.

AUSI Scuba Specialties

Many specialties including Rescue Diver, Scuba Assistant, Underwater Photographer, Underwater Naturalist, Sinkhole & Cave Diving.

• AUSI Level VI Professional – Professional Dive Master

• AUSI Scuba Assistant Instructor – Assistant Instructor

• AUSI Level I Scuba Instructor – Resort Instructor

• AUSI Level II Scuba Instructor – Open Water Instructor

• AUSI Level III Scuba Instructor – Advanced Instructor

• AUSI Level IV Scuba Instructor – Deep Instructor

• AUSI Level V Scuba Instructor – Rescue Instructor

• AUSI Level VI Scuba Instructor – Dive Master Instructor

• AUSI Level VII Scuba Instructor – Instructor Trainer

• AUSI Level VIII Scuba Instructor – Instructor Examiner

AUSI Scuba Professional Cross-Over programs

Qualified Dive Masters, Assistant Instructors and Scuba Instructors from other recognised agencies are welcome to become registered AUSI Professionals. AUSI Cross-Over Programs are Free*.
